There are lots of stone symbol narrative prototype in Chinese documentary, which was applied in narrative structure by creators because of its own characteristics and cultural implication. This paper discusses the stone symbol in the deep structure of these documentary narrative prototype, analyses the category and narrative function of stone symbol in prototype situation, revealsits cultural connotations, to grasp the unconscious structure behind the Chinese stone culture,and to promote the spread of Chinese culture.
