The popular culture of primitive art and orientalism at that time became its inspiration, lacquer art from far East Asia as one of the design element played an special role in the West design. Lacquer is a luxury type of paint, it is applied in the high-class design of furniture, daily utensils and jewelry. During 1920s and 1930s, lacquer design became upper class's fashionable preference.
