To grasp the development trend of circular design, we can use the CiteSpace visualization software to calculate the core journal papers and master's and doctoral theses with the theme of "circular design" and "circular product" in the CNKI database from 1990 to 2020, analyze the network relationship between the author and the research institution, the research directions of scholars, and the development framework and trend in the field of circular design. The research shows that the network relationship of the authors in the field of circular design is intensive, and the scale of the research team is small. Research institutions are mainly from academies of energy and machinery. By analyzing the research trend in the field of circular design, it is concluded that circular design is a circular model for growth that centers on "industry-economy-.system-ecology-green design". The circular model has facilitated the transformation of the focus of research on resource and ecological sustainability from single product to the whole industry.
