[Purpose] This study aims to explore the transformation pathways for incorporating the artistic characteristics of the Kizil Grottoes Murals into poster design by analyzing their visual elements. It seeks to provide theoretical and practical references for the innovative design of traditional cultural elements. [Method] Through literature research and image analysis, the study analyzed the thematic characteristics, compositional forms, color systems, and modeling principles of the Kizil Grottoes Murals. Representative visual elements were extracted and innovatively applied to poster design, translating traditional artistic features into contemporary visual language. [Result] This framework outlined a methodology suitable for the digital interpretation and creative application of Kizil Grottoes Murals. A series of poster designs were successfully completed based on this methodology. [Conclusion] The Kizil Grottoes Murals offer a rich reservoir of visual resources for modern design. Their characteristic transformation necessitates balancing the contemporary interpretation of traditional symbols with effective visual expression. This research not only expands the dissemination channels for Kizil Grottoes Murals but also injects new vitality and inspiration into the field of modern design, promoting the deep integration and innovative development of culture and design.
