[Purpose] This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the image sources and cultural connotations of the hunting image on Persian carpets. [Method] This study starts from the knowledge related to iconography, mythology and religious studies. [Result] By means of graphic analysis and mutual verification of text and images, the image sources of hunting image were explored, and the reasons for their persistent popularity and symbolic connotations were analyzed. [Conclusion] The hunting image on the Persian carpet are a continuation of ancient Persian culture. Despite the changes in Persia's religious beliefs, the classic hunting scenes have been preserved, re-adapted and endowed with new cultural connotations.
